I've been going to Hawks for their fried fish for almost 30 years now. The only thing that has changed is their location. The food is prepared upon ordering. No need to worry about food sitting around under a heat lamp. It's all freshly made right there. They also sell barbecue which I haven't had from them.
There's a limited amount of seating inside so you may want to order head by calling it in or coming on to place your order to go.
The staff are warm and welcoming. Should you want to have them prepare food for a graduation party or other event contact them on advance for their availability. I want to a party in which the food was from them and it was well done and everyone enjoyed.
If you haven't tried them, then what are you waiting for? -

I wish there was something good to say about this place. The food is bland and way overpriced! I got the crab cake sandwich instead of the wings because I was told the wings would take 15-20 minutes. I should have just ordered the wings because I ended up waiting about that amount of time anyway. When I first opened the container I thought they had forgotten to put the crab on the bun. I'd equate this sandwich to a small plain hamburger from McDonald's, no taste and small. I never imagined this sandwich would come without lettuce and tomato. This crab cake definitely wasn't as good as what you get at Long John Silvers!

I am a perm customer of the Hawks cart downtown and since I was on this side of town I was like Yes!
You need to get a fried fish sandwich and sit back and enjoy! It's more than enough and your palate will thank you. It's served piping hot and overflowing with seasoning. Its worth the price with a lil hot sauce and tartar sauce -

Sometimes the best BBQ can be found in little family run spots such as this.
Just not this one.
Service was smooth and efficient, but the BBQ sandwich was very small, thin and overly sauced on a soggy bun. It could've been eaten without teeth. And I found it odd that this BBQ restaurant had no evidence of a smoker anywhere. Most menu items were of fried offerings. My pork sandwich combo included fries - fresh and hot, but with no seasoning or salt- along with a very small (12 oz kiddie cup?) drink for nearly $9 with tax.
If you're looking for a restaurant with good pulled pork BBQ, keep looking. They usually have a smoker somewhere out front. -

I catered some fish from them and the fried fish still had the tails and fins on them. The flavor was just ok, you had to pluck off the fins and tails before being able to enjoy it.
